Moseley, whose father died of cancer in 2001 in his 50s, uses his own journey through his "brain cells" to try to make sense of the senseless."

"...The show is moving when it tells that story straightforwardly, but the rest of the time it’s shapeless and shallow, alternating between half-baked educational sketches and seize-the-day sermonizing. Attempts to lighten the mood via games with the audience and metatheatrical goofing around are glib in tone and chaotically staged by directors Moseley and Jeremy Wechsler."

"...With cast members welcoming us to the setting of "Anthony Moseley's Brain," a tiresome framing device involving Moseley chatting with his dentist and regular diversions into audience interactions (with cancer-themed parodies of classic game shows like The Price Is Right and Family Feud), This Is Not a Cure for Cancer is in need of greater outside guidance. For all its sincere emotion, the work is more sure of what it's not than what it is."

"...“This is Not a Cure for Cancer” is a sentimental postcard. It is personal and immediate. I wanted to feel the emotional impact of the piece. I wanted a positive take away. It did not reveal itself to me; however, I did appreciate the heart felt tribute to the man the story teller loved deeply. No one can dispute that. There just may be TMI for one eighty minute show to hold."
