St. Luke's Episcopal Church, completed in 1909, is a striking example of Neo-Gothic architecture that once served as Chicago's Episcopal cathedral. Inside, a massive marble altar anchors the sanctuary, framed by an ornate stone altarpiece carved with figures of saints, while music lovers often point to the church's impressive Skinner pipe organ-featuring four manuals and 65 stops-as one of its standout treasures. Just off the main sanctuary, the more intimate Lady Chapel offers a quieter, chapel-like setting. St. Luke's is also known as one of the atmospheric Chicago venues that hosts Candlelight Concerts, where live music is performed in the warm glow of hundreds of candles.
