The Wizard Of Oz
100 Drury Lane Oakbrook Terrace
Based on the Academy Award-winning 1939 film, THE WIZARD OF OZ is the story of young Dorothy, who lives in Kansas with her Aunt Em, Uncle Henry and her dog, Toto. When a tornado strikes their farm, Dorothy and Toto are transported somewhere over the rainbow and into the magical Land of Oz. In Oz Dorothy meets a colorful assortment of Munchkins, the Good Witch Glinda, and the Wicked Witch of the West. Dorothy sets out for the Emerald City, hoping that the powerful Wizard of Oz will help her find her way home. On her journey down the Yellow Brick Road, Dorothy meets a kind Scarecrow who wants a brain, a Tinman who is looking for a heart, and a Cowardly Lion who is seeking courage. These unlikely friends must face their fears to help Dorothy and Toto and save the people of Oz from the Wicked Witch of the West. Featuring a score with favorites such as "Follow the Yellow Brick Road" and "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," THE WIZARD OF OZ will remind audiences of all ages that there really is “no place like home.”
