The Sporting Life Reviews
Chicago Stage and Screen - Highly Recommended
"...It was joyous to watch the actors transform into all of the townsfolk and see some of them return just to swiftly "depart" again. Ziare Paul-Emile was particularly amazing in the demanding role of Dot and her performance during the first period scene is still sitting with me. Truly each actor felt perfectly cast and I would highly recommend catching this run while you can."
Around The Town Chicago - Somewhat Recommended
"...The audience of about 25 people, mostly under 30-laughed through much of the violence, but as a senior theatergoer, I was more appalled than amused. What was billed as dark comedy or satire felt more like a blood-soaked parody of horror films, with little depth or message to justify its brutality."
Buzz Center Stage - Recommended
"...From a production standpoint, I have to give enormous credit to the team's handling of blood. In case you've never worked with it, stage blood is notoriously difficult: just when you think you've solved one logistical challenge, five more appear. I have nothing but admiration for the technical crew's ambition and precision. Most plays save blood for the final moments, so cleanup only happens once, but The Sporting Life opens with a full-on blood spray within the first five minutes. And it just keeps coming."
