"...The women are a bundle of nerves -- suffused with over-the-top, let-'em-rip emotions -- but there's little personality behind the feelings. It doesn't work as an allegory, nor does it work in realistic terms. The actors are left to flail about like harpies in a soap opera, their motivations and inner thoughts left unexamined."
