"...If you don’t well remember “The Golden Girls” then “The Golden Gals Live!” is not your show. If you like watching past episodes on YouTube, love these characters and recall the basic scenarios of the show, you’ll likely have a fun time here. You’ll certainly be among fellow travelers."

"...Neither an homage nor a parody of the groundbreaking, iconic sitcom Golden Girls, Golden Gals lacks a point of view and swings uneasily between tones. One moment, it’s pure, over-the-top camp and broad comedy. The next, it’s a deeply serious drama overloaded with more earnest plot points than a month’s worth of Very Special Episodes."

"...Kudos to the cast, who provided several comedic lines, but the lack of camaraderie, wit, and flair seen from the legendary Bea Arthur, Betty White, Rue McClanahan, and Estelle Getty; caused this production to have several moments that seemed lethargic and lacking humor. But with a bit of work and losing some scenes, like the talent show during the power outage, this can be a delightfully funny production."

"...This is a brand new show written by Joshua Eads and directed by Ginger Minj ( who is also a very sexy Blanche). This is a cast of 5 ( plus a dancer in a talent show scene (Marcus Jackson is dynamite) and is far longer than the 30 minute segments that you are used to. The story is a mixture of shows put into one 2 hour production. It is two acts with an intermission. The set by Bob Silton looks pretty much like the living room on the show, so those who are somewhat fans will feel right at home. The ladies live in a development in the Greater Miami area."

"...This new production, fresh from sunny Florida, is festive and fun. It’s a feast for the eyes and ears and provides liberal Chicago audiences with plenty of bawdy humor. The performances are appropriately over-the-top, as are the costumes, wigs and makeup, and the laughter flows continually. It’s always wonderful to see a group of talented, outrageous drag performers at the top of their game, and “The Golden Gals” will definitely warm a cold Chicago night as they thank their enthusiastic patrons for “Being a Pal.”"

"...The show itself is as much fun as a sitcom episode, and more, with Burt Reynolds mustaches, ribald jokes, a fringy Tina Turner dress (and dance routine to match), an 80s aerobics routine that’d make Richard Simmons proud. So, if you long for those beloved TV ladies and their wisecracking antics, check them out in The Golden Gals at Mercury Theater"

"...The acting was impeccable! Each Golden Gal tied in so much of the original character into their representation of the role. Even the voice tone and inflection was near perfection. Had I closed my eyes and just listened, I would have swore Bea Arthur herself had been resurrected and was on stage reprising her role as Dorothy. The mannerisms and facial expressions were flawless as well, and truly reminded me of each character from the TV show, but still allowed the actors’ own talent to shine through. Ginger Minj, who stars as Blanche and directed the show was a standout among the cast."
