The Designated Mourner
1520 W. Jarvis Chicago
Described as "provocative and haunting," The Designated Mourner centers around Jack, an English professor, Judy, his wife and Howard, an aging intellectual, as they describe the affects of the destruction of their marriage, family and art itself during an incredibly violent government crackdown. Presented directly to the audience in a series of intertwining monologues, the three characters reveal the high cost of surviving in a unnamed country that no longer values art or love.
