"...As Johnny (or more accurately, the boy playing the dead Johnny), Antonio Cruz is tightly coiled, all squints and mumbles, and the entire ensemble's juvenile physicality is spot-on. The production itself has some calibration issues, however. Johnny's text (via Graney) is splintered and awkward, at odds with the realism of many of the performances."
