Savor After Hours Reviews
Chicago Tribune - Somewhat Recommended
"...Although the script is a bit cheesy and the narrative arc rather shallow, "Savor" features plenty of visually dazzling moments set to a toe-tapping playlist. All in all, an entertaining way to spend an evening - with or without a glass of wine in hand."

"...If you're a fan of "Dancing with the Stars," you'll be positively thrilled with "Savor After Hours." If you aren't a fan, you'll definitely be reconsidering that after watching the extraordinary dancers on stage at the Broadway Playhouse through Aug. 18."

"...If you are a fan of “Dancing with the Stars”, you will find a little bit of heaven onstage at The Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place. Created by Mark Swanhart ( who is also the director and writer, and who I had the good fortune to interview on last Sunday’s show), this is about one hour and twenty minutes of wonderful dance action, where we are brought to our feet at its ending, which is an amazing dance number to the music of “Dancing” from “Saturday Night Fever”."

"...Devised, directed and written by Mark Swanhart, and richly choreographed by KC Minnie and assistant choreographer Emily Crouch, “Savor” is also winningly interactive. A set designed by Shaun Motley suggests a rather posh hotel nightclub and initially makes room for the seating of eight audience members on the stage. Daniella Gschwendtner’s glittery costumes fully display the women’s shapely legs, while the men are decked out in more reserved outfits. And throughout the show there is plenty of teasing and rough-and-tumble interaction between the sexes."

"...This polished production is an evocative evening of wine and dance that would’ve made Bacchus very happy. The show, which often dances right off the stage and out into the audience, also features VIP, onstage seating. It features favorite songs like “Big Spender,” “Time in a Bottle” and music from hit films like “Pulp Fiction” and “Saturday Night Fever.”"

"...But this big-hearted production, complete with swanky jazz club set, delivers 75 minutes of sophisticated dance numbers performed by top-notch, beautifully costumed performers-who have won a combined seven Dancing with the Stars trophies and are quite easy on the eyes-as they spin, flip and twirl each other to great effect."
