"... With musical numbers co-written by Cerda and Scott Lamberty, the show is as vulgar as one would hope. The cast has mastered that stunned, blank-eyed expression that seems to predominate with the young girls seen on shows like TLC's "Toddlers & Tiaras" (Jeremy Myers, in Shirley Temple curls, is so good at this, it would be scary if it wasn't so funny) and the none-too-healthy parenting obsessions seen on Lifetime's "Dance Moms." And yet it's not a complete tear-down job: "If my love came in a cup / It would be a Big Gulp," the mothers sing to their offspring, and the moment is ridiculous but kind of genuine too."

"...The kids on TV usually end up looking like drag queens, so it's fitting that most of the sexy babies in Derek Czaplewski's staging are played by men. My hands-down favorite: Alex Grelle's Beyansay Riddle, who hasn't been right in the head since she got run over by a mobility scooter at Walmart."

"...In addition to the live action and musical numbers there are some funny video interviews that play on flat screen TVs scattered around the room. The way that 15 larger-than-life characters, most of whom are dancing their hearts out, can all fit on that tiny Mary’s Attic stage is a tribute to the directorial skill of Derek Czaplewski. Playful costumes, hysterical wigs and wild makeup add to the fun. making this musical confection worth sampling."

"...Permit me, boys and girls, to lead you to the slaughter of this deadly funny, deceptively ingenious, disturbingly decadent, wickedly wrong, unadulterated triumph of trash! Unless you hate to laugh, DO NOT MISS Sexy Baby."

"...Sexy Baby is a children’s show for gay adults—which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but sloppiness among the cast cuts into the comedy. Line flubs are frequent, and the large ensemble has difficulty moving on the small Mary’s Attic stage. The skilled singers are overqualified for Cerda and Lamberty’s largely derivative score: “The Sexualization of the Children of the Nation” is a modified “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.”"

"...Hell in a Handbag Productions presents the world premiere of SEXY BABY, A Docu-Musical. Swann Black wants a tiara. At least, that’s what her mom tells her. They are hitting the pageant circuit...hard! And the competition is ferocious...especially among the parents. Electric scooter bound mama, Siegfried & Roy daddies, white trash teen are all pushing for their tots to triumph. And the girls -and boy- are a diadem away from pleasing their parents. SEXY BABY wins the prize for crowning a sleazement."
