Chicago Tribune - Highly Recommended
"...In its new, intensified and sexier form, “Come Fly Away” feels like a mating dance between dancers and musicians, with Sinatra's voice not so much dominating the evening as providing its carefully arranged uber-text. It's never camp. Sinatra always had the best songs and the best charts. Tharp just adds the best dancers, dancers who can act."

"... More often than not all the crotch-flashing splits, somersaults, elaborately snaking lifts and overall manic motion (think “Dancing With the Stars” on amphetamines) comes close to blotting out the edgy beauty of Sinatra’s voice and his exquisite shaping of song lyrics. When his illuminated portrait flashed during the finale, “New York, New York,” all I could think of was that it looked like a variation on those velvet Elvis paintings, and the impulse was to say: What happened in Vegas should have stayed in Vegas."

"...Sinatra was apparently a fan of Tharp’s as well, and it’s not hard to imagine him enjoying this sensual, jubilant expression of the songs he sang with such feeling. See this show before it leaps off the stage into the night."

"... World-renowned choreographer Twyla Tharp has created and choreographed this 80-minute “dansicle” inspired by this legendary crooner’s swanky style. Of course, his music is the heart and soul of this show, and they’ve managed to extract his vocals from various recordings to have them accompanied by a swinging onstage band, heavy on brass and sax. That alone is a remarkable achievement."

"... Sinatra's classic vocal tracks are seamlessly and powerfully complimented by an outstanding on-stage band that manages to create the perfect synthesis of voice and instrument that will leave you wondering if it is live or Memorex(it is both here). "Come Fly Away" is a perfect and pleasantly unprententious evening's entertainment. Sinatra would not have had it any other way, and the selection of 27 hit songs and 1 reprise make for an unbeatable hit parade. So set 'em up Joe, make it one more for my baby, and face the music and dance!"

"... Tony Award-winner Twyla Tharp conceived, choreographed and directed this time-stopping tribute to another era. Hooking-up-at-last-call has never looked so sophisticated. Tharp establishes a timeless sophistication with Sinatra’s distinctly delectable stylings."

"... Once in awhile, it is an enjoyable experience to go to the theater for pure escape and the new production, now on the stage at The Bank Of America Theatre, “Come Fly Away” a new musical conceived and written by famed director-choreographer Twyla Tharp is just that. Eighty minutes of dance by a cast of energetic and talented dancers all to the memorable music sung by Frank Sinatra. There is a live band onstage ( who do some marvelous solos) and they have stripped away the original music of the recordings used to keep the “live” touch that makes the music much more realistic."

"...Twyla-sharp, the awesome athleticism, non-negotiable comeliness, and perfect fits in duos and breakout numbers of this flawless troupe honor all the quirky glory and psychological patterning of Tharp’s thinking dancing. Few shows pack more intelligent energy into every all-absorbing minute. No question, however fit and young, these dancer/actors must return to their dressing rooms utterly exhausted. But, basking in their afterglow, the audience is richly grateful for all these last full measures of devotion."
