Yet for most of the show's 80 minutes, White dallies with peripheral issues that shed little light on either the characters or anti-government violence. Michael Rashid's intelligent, well-paced Black Elephant Theatre production can't start the script's dead engine."

But, despite its highly imaginative pretend-encounter, Terre Haute goes far to explaining how much American extremes—Vidal’s kneejerk cynicism about American ideals and McVeigh’s lethal paranoia and self-pity—seem to deserve each other. Most of us are happy enough to live in between."
