Pinocchio Reviews
ShowBizChicago - Highly Recommended
"...Unsurprisingly, it is a welcome and effectual alchemy. Through a sequence of rapping juvenile delinquents (who are surely lovable), life-sized grass hoppers and one elongated nose, Rockwell and Robin are carefully never to speak down to their listeners, even the most vernal of enthusiast. It is truly a production to be eagerly shared by all, with a message of honesty and courage that has always outlasted the most fairy-tested of magic."

"...This production was riddled with fun characters. Jackson Evans (Hopper) was hands down the glue of the show. His timing was perfect and his awareness to his audience was what is needed in these shows. As a director of shows for young audiences myself, one of the most important things to impose on the performers is that your energy has to exceed the squirmy crowd. Every time he was on this was established and you could feel it with the surrounding audience. Bernie Yvon (Geppetto) was another performer to grab my attention. He is such a genuine actor with an amazing quality that makes you want to believe every word and emotion he is saying/feeling. His handling of the wife being “gone” reveal is well done. One thing that bugged me casting wise was seen during the reveal of Pinocchio and the fact that Pinocchio turned into "a real...man?". Jameson Cooper was a little too old looking for the part once revealed."

"...This is a slick and clever production that is sure to hold the interest of your youngsters. Jameson Cooper is a strong Pinocchio. The set by Jesse Gaffney, costumes by Nancy Missimi and lighting by Jesse Klug all add to the magic of the script and songs created by Robin, and the small cast, who take on all types of roles is full of energy and pep as they sing and dance their way into your hearts in the re-telling of this classical story. The theater doesn’t give out programs for the kids ( I guess to be “green”) but a lot of those sitting around me would really have liked to have one for the memories of the day. The cast members I am sure of are Ericka Mac and Richard Strimer ( Kitty and Fox),Scott Calcagno and Adrian Aguilar and Michael Haws as Geppetto."
