Levi Kreis, the Tony Award-winning star of Broadway's Million Dollar Quartet and former Chicago cast member (Jerry Lee Lewis), announces a solo acoustic performance on November 1, 2010, at 7:30 p.m. at the Apollo Theater, 2540 N. Lincoln Ave, Chicago. "Where I Belong: An Intimate Evening with Levi Kreis" will showcase the musician/actor's exceptional songwriting in a stripped down, unplugged atmosphere.
After playing the role of Jerry Lee Lewis in the Chicago production of Million Dollar Quartet for more than 15 months, Levi moved to Broadway with the original Chicago cast in 2010. He received resounding critical acclaim, culminating in his 2010 Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical.
"Where I Belong: An Intimate Evening with Levi Kreis" will also feature award-winning singer & songwriter Eric Himan and three-time Billboard charting artist Jason Antone. The performance is sponsored by the Bodhi Spiritual Center of Chicago.
As part of Million Dollar Quartet's ongoing initiative, "Sitting in with the Band," Levi Kreis will join the Chicago cast during the encore for the 6:30pm performance on October 31. Previous "Sitting in with the Band" guests in Chicago have included Kurt Elling, Billy Branch, and Lynn Jordan; Jerry Lee Lewis and Melissa Etheridge, among others, have joined the New York cast for "Sitting in with the Band."
"If it weren't for my southern accent giving me away, I just might call Chicago home," says Levi. "There is no other place I would rather begin this 10-city tour than where it all began for me."
Levi is currently promoting his third album, Where I Belong, along with the uplifting second single "Gonna Be Alright." The album's first single "Nothing At All" debuted on FX's Sons of Anarchy and delivered a #1 video for MTVMusic.com, #1 for 12 weeks on The Logo Channel, and aired on Vh1.com, HBO Zone, and Macy's department stores nationwide. He is also featured on Jerry Lee Lewis' recently released album, performing "Money" with the rock & roll icon.
In addition to Chicago, Levi Kreis' shows are being planned for this winter in Philadelphia, Montreal, Baltimore, Washington DC and more cities yet to be confirmed.
