The Chicago Fringe Festival (CFF) invites emerging and established performing artists from Chicago, the U.S., and beyond to showcase their work September 1st through 5th, 2010 in the Pilsen neighborhood. This inaugural five-day event will allow performers to present their work in an accessible, uncensored, and new environment. CFF provides an avenue to unite performers and audiences in an affordable and immediate way.

Applications for the festival are published at www.chicagofringe.org; the due date for applications is February 15, 2010. CFF is seeking acts 45-60minutes in length. Each performance piece should be at least 80% scripted or choreographed. CFF will not accept acts that receive performances in the Chicago area from January 1 - November 1 2010. The Chicago area includes the following counties: Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, Will. The production fee for participants of The Chicago Fringe Festival is $400 and artists keep 100% of box office proceeds.

Performances will be chosen through a public lottery that will take place on February 28, 2010. Each act chosen will have the opportunity to perform 5 times over the course of the festival, and will be featured on the Chicago Fringe Festival website and programs.

Additionally, the Chicago Fringe Festival is participating in a unique Midwest Circuit lottery for producers to take shows to Minnesota, Kansas City, Chicago and Indianapolis. The deadline for the combined application is due on December 31, 2009. Details on how to participate can be found at http://www.fringefestivals.us/midwest.php.
