Bailiwick Theatre

With the audience as well as the cast in the buff, Bailiwick's Barenaked Lads will perform naked for a special ‘naked night’ audience on Friday, September 7 at 10:00pm, with a portion of $30 ticket price supporting the Great Lakes Area Natural Tans Society (GLANTS).

The audience for this performance is co-ed, and each brings a towel and gym bag when they arrive (clothed) at the theater box office. Once the audience is inside the Studio Theater of the Bailiwick Arts Center Mainstage at 1229 West Belmont, the disrobing begins both on-stage and off.  Audience members sit on their own towels, and dress again before exiting the theater.

The naked night is one of two Friday dates that do not start at the usual 8:00 p.m. time.  Barenaked Lads will start at 10:00 on September 7th for the special naked night, and on September 14th for the usual Barenaked Lads show with a clothed audience.  Regular showings are Fridays at 8:00 p.m. and Saturdays at 10:00 p.m.  Tickets are $30 for Fridays, and $37 for Saturdays.  It closes Saturday, November 24th.

GLANTS, a Chicago charter club of the American Association for Naked Recreation (AANR), believes in the essential wholesomeness of all human bodies, and in social nudism, asserting that the exposure of the human body to light and air is beneficial to physical and mental health, and that recreation is enhanced by the nudist experience. The diverse group hosts other indoor and outdoor events throughout the year, including bowling, bare-b-ques, beach parties, camping, and Nude Year's Eve events.

Bailiwick's Barenaked Lads have been celebrating their own hilarious brand of nakedness, and are now performing in its third year in Chicago. The theatrical troupe was also a hit recently at the Fourth International Theatre Festival in Dublin, Ireland and a second Bailiwick company is currently running at the Post Office Cabaret Theater in Provincetown, Massachusetts.  Barenaked Lads has just recently extended its shows until November 24th due to popularity.
