"...Bouncy and jubilant, “Mary Poppins: A Staged Concert” recalls the magic of the classic P. L. Travers tale, where a rare and remarkable nanny with a lovely singing voice (Laura Sportiello) comes to the aid of the staunchly middle class Banks family, who live in a large house on Cherry Tree Lane. Cameron Mackintosh’s stage adaptation of the 1964 Disney film forms the basis for the current musical, whose original music and lyrics were written by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman with new songs and additional music and lyrics by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe."
