"...But ultimately the show depends upon us believing in Elle's transformation, and Shipman, who was a touching Audrey this past fall in Music Theater Works's Little Shop of Horrors, delivers with winsome wit and a big heart. Her sorority girl learns some big lessons, but Legally Blonde shows that she has some important things to teach others, too."

"...You can tell director Mandy Modic has a real knowledge of, and love of, the source material and the show. Everything is thoughtfully laid out and beautifully executed. This is a put together show, just like the main character, Elle Woods."

"...Director Mandy Modic orchestrates a good time with a fairly large cast that includes two dogs. Modic paces it lively with scenery and the talented ensemble gliding in and out seamlessly. In the lead, Kayla Shipman is a delight as the fabulous and fashionable Elle. Her chemistry with both Emmett (played by the charming David Moreland) and Paulette (the vivacious Khaki Pixley) is endearing as she offers support in "Take it like a Man" and "Bend and Snap.""

"...It's the top of the second act. Fans of the musical will recognize the familiar bop of "Whipped into Shape" start to play from the stellar orchestra. This is the moment we meet Brooke Wyndham - not only a famous personal trainer with a national fan base for her top-notch workout videos, but also a woman on trial for the murder of her husband."

"...Music Theater Works has done such a good job with its productions this season. Legally Blonde fits right in. The casting is right on. Voices are strong. And the choreography is terrific. It deserves a longer run than its Dec. 29 last show."

"...This story is definitely geared to young females. They do identify with it. It was apparent in the audience. It is about respecting yourself but also treating each other with respect. Believe in yourself. Have faith in others but ultimately, have faith in yourself. We all need to remember these important things. Music Works presents these ideas in an enjoyable and fun production. A nice way to ring out the year."
