"...This leaves director Derek Van Barham and the troupe assembled for this Pride Films and Plays production to secure our sympathies—or, at least, our tolerance—for the progress of two implausibly naive individuals exhibiting no explanation for their mutual attraction except to generate Platonic dialogues and Erotic cuddles. As played by Nelson Rodriguez, however, the repressed Academic is endowed with depths of understated introspection, his reserve contrasting with Niko Kourtis' provocative portrayal of the volatile ( and often annoyingly self-righteous ) young Writer. Likewise fabricating personalities beyond what information Seavey's script provides them are Jordan Dell Harris and Jessica Vann as what we can only assume are the "everyone in America" mentioned in the title."

"...What’s most maddening about this one-act is Seavey’s arrogantly inclusive title: Far from emblematic of everyday, garden-variety “HOMOS,” let alone “EVERYONE IN AMERICA” (notice the Trump-like caps), these drama queens are strategically specific. Hardly Tony Kushner’s “Angels in America,” they’re trendy Gothamites placed under a merciless microscope."

It’s a smart choice for kicking off Pride Films & Plays’ new season of plays and musicals. This show is fast-paced and funny, while also being passionate and poignant. Featuring a simple, but effective scenic, lighting and sound design by G. “Max” Maxin IV, with style appropriate costuming by Uriel Gomez, Derek Van Barham’s latest production is a definite must-see for all adult audiences, especially members of Chicago’s LGBTQ community. Audiences will leave The Broadway Theatre reminded that in spite of everything, Love is, indeed, Love."
