Friends With Guns Reviews
Friends With Guns
Chicago Reader - Somewhat Recommended
"...Friends With Guns is Shannon's story, tracking her as her life's illusions are shattered by one small moment. As her inattentive, dumbass husband, Josh, Josh Leeper is sufficiently charming until he isn't. Walker smartly pivots on Josh's neoliberal hypocrisy, and Leeper plays the white male liberal who has never needed (or wanted) to alter his beliefs to the hilt."
Third Coast Review - Somewhat Recommended
"...Friends with Guns, written by Stephanie Allison Walker and directed by Nathan Dale Short, is a provocative play that explores both sides of one of the most controversial debates happening in our country today: guns. The play, now being staged by A Short :Leap Theatre, follows two liberal couples who become fast friends, connecting over being young parents living in California, but after what seems like a perfect night together, discover they are on opposing sides of the wildly complex gun problem in this country."
