"...There is a poignant and sad thread woven through the story, but it’s also one of the most life-affirming shows I’ve seen in recent months. The simple but effective design elements, including colorful and starry lighting effects from Seojung Jang; projections of the surface of the red planet by Joel Zishuk; the stark white boxlike lab designed by Joonhee Park (in effective contrast with the otherworldly Martian world that runs through the audience); and the cunning costumes by Jazmin Aurora Medina (especially Opportunity’s tan coveralls, covered with swoops of gold paint that catch the light) all add theatrical magic."
