"...If you're a fan of the show (the set is the same and all the musicians are union; they don't dare mess with that), you'll be just fine with these most worthy and talented young dancers and singers. Good for them. Good for Tania Nardini and Gary Chryst, who have "re-created" this staging and choreography."

"...In the end, this "Chicago" isn't a replica so much as a mimeograph of the original - you can see still the brilliance of the original, but it's lost some luster and sharpness in translation."
Let's Play Theatrical Reviews - Recommended
"...When you hear the names of John Kander, Fred Ebb, and Bob Fosse, you immediately think of great Broadway plays, so having the Broadway production of Chicago at the CIBC Theatre is bound to attract Chicagoans to the theater. Likewise, the 25th Anniversary of Chicago tour of great jazz, mixed with scandalizing murder and a little razzle-dazzle, make for sensational headlines in Chicago's roaring '20s."

"...Twenty-Five Years! A milestone for a theatrical productions and luckily for us, “Chicago the Musical” is one of those that have reached this magic number. Over the years we have been witness to many productions and incarnations of this Kander & Ebb musical with a book that was written by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse ( a Chicagoan). During these years many of the productions have featured TV actors and athletes in the role of Billy Flynn, the notorious attorney that is brought in to make the outcome of crime be headlines and glamor over hanging. One of the highlights of this production is that an actor (Jeff Brooks) is bringing the “Razzle Dazzle” man to life. He is smooth!"

"...Making a return visit to its namesake city, in a stay that’s all too brief, audiences will be wise to hurry to the CIBC Theatre in the Loop to catch this new touring production. For anyone unfamiliar with this merciless, musical lampoon of the city’s judicial system, or for those who know this show only from its 2002 Oscar-winning film version, this new touring production of is calling your name. But, for patrons who are already big fans of the Kander & Ebb classic, but have forgotten the magical brilliance of this piece, treat yourself now. Because, to parody one of the numbers in this show, “The name on everybody’s lips is gonna be “Chicago.”"

"...Having seen productions of "Chicago" of every size and shape including several incarnations of the 1996 revival that this twenty-fifth-anniversary production purports to be perpetuating, this show seemed foolproof. Alas, it's not."
