
MadKap Productions at the Skokie Theatre is holding General Auditions for its 2022-2023 play season.
MadKap is expanding its play season to include 5 productions. Those 5 productions are:
1. Avenue Q - Production Dates 7/8 - 8/7/2022
Seeking all roles - Please prepare 16 bars of contemporary upbeat song. Accompaniment will be provided. Please bring sheet music marked, and in your key. No acapella, please.
2. TBD - MadKap is in the process of acquiring rights to a Midwest Premiere Musical Dates: Production dates: 9/9 - 10/16/2022
Seeking singers who can sing American Standards - Please prepare 16 bars of an American Standard. Accompaniment will be provided. Please bring sheet music marked, and in your key. No acapella, please.
3. Cat on a Hot Tin Roof
Production Dates: 11/4 - 11/20/2022
Please prepare a one-minute dramatic monologue
The role of "Maggie the Cat" has been cast.
4. Book of Merman
Production Dates: 2/3 - 2/26/2022
Please prepare 16 bars of a "Merman" song OR an upbeat song. Accompaniment will be provided. Please bring sheet music marked, and in your key. No acapella, please.

5. TBD - Neil Simon play - possibly "Broadway Bound"
In addition, we will be casting for Electric Full Contact Theatre Company's production of Blithe Spirit which will be performed at the Skokie Theatre

Please prepare a 1-minute comedic monologue in the fashion of Noel Coward
THIS OPEN CALL IS FOR ANYONE WHO HAS NEVER BEEN CAST BY MADKAP PRODUCTIONS IN THE PAST.
All musical auditions will be held between 12:00 - 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 16, 2022. We will also ask you to do a short "movement" audition so that we can get a sense of your abilities.
We will hear all monologues between the hours of 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm on Sunday, January 16, 2022.
In scheduling your appointment, please request a time that corresponds to the above, as we may only have an accompanist for 2 hours.
All actors entering the theatre must show proof of complete vaccination and remain masked until performing.
