Every year, 10-15 young people are accepted into the Internship Program at Oak Park Festival Theatre from across the nation. These Theatre Arts majors and recent college graduates join us to learn first-hand about working for a professional outdoor theater company. They participate in professional development workshops, perform in their own Shakespeare scene study showcase, understudy our mainstage productions, and work on every part of our summer production: from set construction, to Assistant Directing, to Box Office and concessions, to Development. Even in 2020, they met virtually and built the core of our COVID-19 Action Plan we will be using to welcome artists and guests back to Austin Gardens this summer.
