Sandbox Theatre Collective is pleased to announce its upcoming Member-Produced Project, a high-camp, high-gore presentation of Shakespeare's Macbeth.
As a first step in the casting process, the team is accepting headshots and resumes from artists who are interested in being a part of the project. After an initial round of cuts, performers who are still under consideration will receive an official audition invitation.
STATEMENT FROM THE DIRECTOR:
This production will not be your standard Macbeth. Aesthetically, this production will be high-camp, high-gore; anything could happen. Think Kill Bill meets Death Becomes Her. Actors will be cast, work independently on their roles, and then come together for up to eight rehearsals before performing the show for an audience.
All roles are available. This production seeks to cast a diverse ensemble - actors of all ages, gender identities, races, and disability status are encouraged to submit.
ADVANCE DISCLOSURE
All actors who are involved in this production will be expected to arrive at the first staging rehearsal off-book. We are not necessarily seeking actors who have previous Shakespeare experience on their resumes, *but* we will expect everyone who is cast to be confident performing the material with extremely limited rehearsal time.
