Theatre Momentum is holding auditions for our upcoming production, THE SMALL HOURS, an instant drama. We are seeking to cast 10-11 total players. Come join the ONLY theatre in Chicago dedicated to dramatic improvisation.

We often define our lives by "the big". The big decisions, the big events, the big milestones, and the big wins and losses. Because of this, all of life's little seemingly "insignificant moments" get swallowed up and then you look back and you realize your favorite memory of the party was setting up with your best friends the night before, or that it was your decision to try a new coffeeshop that led you to the love of your life. In this show, we will meet two people and follow them and their loves ones through the befores and afters of a significant moment, but we will never see said significant moment, because this show isn't for the big ones, it's for the small hours in between.

TM productions focus on grounded improvisation that explore the entire spectrum of human emotion, dealing with vulnerable human beings behaving honestly and connecting deeply. Auditioners are encouraged to consider themselves actors first and improvisors second.

Auditions will be held Saturday, September 19 and 26, 3-5:30 PM
Rehearsals will be Saturdays, 3-5:30 PM, October 3-November 7
Performances will be Fridays and Saturdays, 9:30 PM, November 13-December 12 (8 shows, no shows 11/27-28)
Some pay: cast members receive 35% of the ticket sales and complimentary dramatic improv classes. All auditions, rehearsals, and performances will take place at Studio Momentum, 1541 W Belmont.
