Description:

The Front Theatre is seeking non-AEA actors for our upcoming North American premiere of SAP by Rafaella Marcus, directed by Charles Riffenburg, at The Den Theatre. The show will run approximately 90 minutes and will be staged in the round.

ABOUT THE SHOW
A woman's lie to her girlfriend threatens to grow out of control when a man from her past uses it against her. A contemporary thriller with ancient roots, Sap is a poetic and timely new play about passion, power, bisexual erasure, domestic violence, and the danger of hiding who you are. PLEASE NOTE: This show engages with the topics of stalking and sexual assault.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN
Daphne: Late 20s/early 30s female, bisexual, the narrator and main character, requires an actor who can engage confidently in direct address to the audience in an intimate setting

Woman: Early 30s, plays two characters:
(1) Daphne's girlfriend, lesbian, confident, charismatic and outgoing, bit of a gym rat;
(2) office manager, straight, flirty and casual, but the kind of person who can control a room with ease

Man: Late 20s/early 30s, law bro, overconfident but charming, the kind of man unaccustomed to being told no; could be the god Apollo

All actors: Experience with stylized or expressive movement a plus, but not required. The show will be performed in a British (London) dialect.
