City Lit Theatre is pleased to announce auditions for Shadows of Truth by Jillian Leff and directed by Morgan Manasa. This is a non-union production.
SHOW DESCRIPTION: Katie and Evey, best friends who run a small religious charter school in Sugar Land, TX, find their lives upended when a troubled student (and major donor's daughter) accuses them of being in a secret lesbian relationship. As the fallout isolates them, they're forced to question whether there might be hidden truths in their friendship that they've never considered. Drawing inspiration from Lillian Hellman's "The Children's Hour," the play examines how far LGBTQ+ liberation has come-and how much still feels unchanged.
Content Warning: This play contains coarse language and homophobic slurs spoken by minors.
