Backyard Theatre Company is seeking actors for THE NEW / NEW TESTAMENT, a new play by alfonzo solomon kahlil, directed by Ebby Offord.

About the play:
A mythic, funny, and theatrical new work about Eve, Eden, Bel, and The Lazarus confronting change, friendship, divinity, and the stories they were written into.

Roles:

BEL
A catalyst for change.

EVE
Someone who fears change.

EDEN
Someone who craves change.

THE LAZARUS
A spoken-word presence. The Lazarus will also speak the stage directions.

Seeking:
Seeking Black actors who know AAVE and identify with womxnhood, but not necessarily femininity.

Actors of all experience levels are encouraged to submit. We are especially interested in performers who are generous collaborators, comfortable with new work, and excited by ensemble-driven storytelling.
