Edge of the Wood Theatre, located in Chicago's Edgebrook neighborhood on the northwest side, announces auditions for Uncle Vanya (Annie Baker adaptation) on Saturday, July 11 from 1-4pm and Monday, July 13 from 7-9pm. Callbacks on July 18. Auditions will be held in the theatre space at the Edgebrook Community Church, 6736 N Loleta Avenue, Chicago. The production will be directed by Resident Artist Stacey Lind.

Seeking actors of all ages, races and ethnicities, gender and sexual identities, and body types for the following roles:

ALEXANDER (55-65, M) a retired professor and landowner. Self-absorbed, sure of his status. Unaware of his effect.
YELENA (27, F) the professor's second wife. Gave up everything for her husband. Sensitive, moral, holding it together.
SONYA (25-35, F) Serebryakov's daughter from his first marriage. Fervent, devoted, overlooked.
MAMAN (70s, F) mother of Serebryakov's first wife. Clings to the professor's greatness.
VANYA (47, M) brother to Serebryakov's first wife. Runs the estate. Smart, passionate, disillusioned.
ASTROV (35-45, M) a doctor. Dreams of a better future - a legacy. Stuck in a miserable present.
WAFFLES (50s, M) an impoverished landowner. Loving, forgiving musician.
MARINA (70s, F) the old nanny. Takes care of everyone. Doesn't subscribe to the drama.
YEFIM (20-30) the hired help.

Pay rate: $300 stipend for principal roles, $150-200 stipend for supporting roles and understudies (with guaranteed performance).

First rehearsal is October 3. Rehearsals run Monday-Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons and occasional Sunday afternoons. The show runs November 6-22.
