Towle Theater seeks strong actors/singers/dancers for its upcoming productions of ShBoom! Life Could Be A Dream and Misery. ShBoom! Misery by William Goldman based on the novel by Stephen King
This psychological thriller based on Stephen King's novel Misery follows successful romance novelist Paul Sheldon, who is rescued from a car crash and wakes up captive in a secluded home owned by his self-identified "number one fan," Annie Wilkes. While Paul is convalescing, Annie reads the manuscript of his latest book and becomes enraged when she discovers the author has killed off her favorite character, Misery Chastain. Annie forces Paul to write a new Misery novel and he quickly realizes Annie has no intention of letting him go. The irate Annie has Paul writing as if his life depends on it - and it does.

Meet Denny and the Dreamers, a fledgling doo-wop singing group preparing to enter the Big Whopper Radio contest to realize their dreams of making it to the big time! Trouble comes in the form of Lois, who arrives to put some polish on the boys. Denny falls in love, Wally falls in line, Eugene falls apart, then along comes handsome heartthrob Duke to send the whole situation spinning.

ShBoom Life Could Be A Dream - *The first music rehearsal is mandatory and will be June 13th 10 am - 6 pm (with scheduled breaks) as well as Saturday July 11th. Subsequent rehearsals will begin June 20th (max 3-4 rehearsals per week except tech week). Performance Dates are July 24 - Aug 9, 2026.Performance times: Matinees at 2pm. Evenings 7:30 pm Fri, Sat & Sunday. All rehearsals and performances will take place at the Towle Theater in Hammond, IN.
Misery rehearsals will begin August 17, 2026 (max 3-5 rehearsals per week except tech week). Performance Dates are September 25 - October 11. All rehearsals and performances will take place at the Towle Theater in Hammond, IN. Performance times: Matinees at 2pm. Evenings 7:30 pm
ShBoom! Life Could Be A Dream - Please prepare 16-32 bars of an uptempo and/or ballad in the style of the show. You may only sing one song, however please have a contrasting piece ready if asked. Provide sheet music in the correct key. No acapella or taped accompaniment. You may be asked to read/sing from the script.
Misery - Auditions will consist of readings from the sides provided on our website and do not need to be memorized. The parts of Paul and Annie will require physical action and movement that includes (but may not be limited to) lifting or assisting in lifting another human, moving one's own body weight with upper body only and exerting physical action and effort during dialogue.
