Yellow Rose Theater is seeking production team members for an original immersive sketch production performing at Bramble Theater (The Berry), opening June 10, 2026.
Yellow Rose Theater creates original sketch-driven work designed to immerse the audience inside a living story. This upcoming production is a work-in-progress piece that guides audiences through multiple generations inside a Chicago speakeasy setting. The structure is theatrical, fast-moving, and collaborative.

Stage Manager - Stipend: $900
Seeking an organized, adaptable Stage Manager comfortable working with evolving material.
Responsibilities include:
Create and maintain rehearsal reports, schedules, and production paperwork
Track script and staging changes as the show evolves
Run rehearsals, manage time, and support the director and performers
Coordinate communication between departments (lighting, scenic, costume, sound, props)
Build and maintain the calling script
Lead and execute technical rehearsals, cue-to-cue, dress rehearsals, and performances
Call the show during performances
Manage backstage operations, crew workflow, and actor traffic
Maintain show integrity through the full run
Oversee strike on June 28
Will have ASM support
Stage management experience is required. Familiarity with immersive staging and sketch-based performance is strongly preferred.
Assistant Stage Manager - Stipend: $400
The ASM will play a key role in keeping rehearsals and performances running smoothly in a fast-paced, ensemble-based environment.
Responsibilities include:
Support the Stage Manager in rehearsals and during tech
Assist with scheduling communication, rehearsal tracking, and daily paperwork
Track blocking and script changes as the show evolves
Serve as props lead during the run - create and maintain a props tracking list and backstage preset checklist
Manage prop handoffs, placements, and resets during performances
Maintain prop organization and storage backstage
Communicate prop needs, repairs, replacements, and consumables to the production team
Manage backstage operations during tech and performances
Support quick changes, actor traffic, and set/prop transitions
Support load-in beginning June 1 and assist with strike on June 28
Stage management experience preferred. A strong role for someone looking to gain experience in immersive, original work and collaborative production environments.
Set Designer - Stipend: $800
Scenic design will be central to establishing time, place, texture, and audience experience in an intimate venue. We are seeking a designer who can both design the set and lead its execution.
Responsibilities include:
Develop scenic design concept in collaboration with director and production team
Design a functional speakeasy/Chicago storefront backroom environment that supports multiple eras and scenes
Create renderings and build plans as required
Source materials and determine construction methods within budget
Lead and help execute the build of the set
Delegate tasks to ensemble and volunteer build team members
Oversee painting, finishing, dressing, and installation
Ensure the set is structurally sound and performance-ready
Manage load-in beginning June 1
Participate in technical rehearsals for necessary adjustments
Lead scenic strike on June 28
Scenic design experience required. Strong construction and leadership skills required. Experience designing for immersive or audience-integrated staging is strongly preferred. Support from ensemble/volunteer team will be available.
Lighting Designer - Stipend: $650
The lighting design will play a major role in defining environment, tone shifts, transitions, and theatrical storytelling within a flexible space.
Responsibilities include:
Collaborate with director and design team to develop a cohesive lighting concept
Design lighting looks that support immersive storytelling and rapid sketch transitions
Create lighting plot and supporting paperwork as needed
Coordinate with venue staff and production team on equipment availability
Hang/focus and cueing sessions during tech
Program lighting cues and transitions (or coordinate with board op if assigned)
Support technical rehearsals through opening
Return lights to original rep plot at the end of the production
Experience designing for theatrical productions is required. Experience in nontraditional or immersive spaces is a plus. Some ensemble support available.
Costumer - Stipend: $400
This role is ideal for someone who is resourceful, organized, and comfortable pulling, sourcing, and assembling costumes within a limited budget. Costumes must support time shifts, fast changes, and strong character identity across multiple generations.
Responsibilities include:
Collaborate with director and production team to determine costume needs by character and era
Source, pull, thrift, borrow, or assemble costume pieces
Support fittings and adjustments
Organize costume tracking and quick-change planning as needed
Maintain costumes through tech and performances
Assist with costume strike and returns on June 28
Costume experience preferred. Familiarity with period-inspired styling and fast-paced ensemble work is a plus. Support from ensemble and volunteers will be available.
