Hair

Pay: Yes

Description:

Kokandy Productions is seeking main cast and understudies for Gerome Ragni, James Rado & Galt MacDermot's HAIR, directed and choreographed by Brennan Urbi, with music direction by Kara Olander. The show will be produced at The Chopin Theatre in Wicker Park.

About the show
The American tribal love rock musical HAIR celebrates the sixties counterculture in all its barefoot, long-haired, bell-bottomed, beaded and fringed glory. To an infectiously energetic rock beat, the show wows audiences with songs like "Aquarius," "Good Morning, Starshine," "Hair," "I Got Life" and "Let The Sunshine In." Exploring ideas of identity, community, global responsibility and peace, HAIR remains relevant as ever as it examines what it means to be a young person in a changing world.

We are casting 10-16 individuals to cover all roles, including Berger, Woof, Hud, Claude, Jeanie, Dionne, Crissy, Sheila, Margaret Mead and other members of the tribe. We are looking for a diverse cast of all backgrounds, sizes, sexualities, genders and types to explore the themes of HAIR and how they resonate today. All roles can be played by any ethnicity, unless specifically noted in the character listing.

Full schedule, production details, character listing and submission instructions can be found on the Kokandy website.

Pay: $800
