Janus Theatre Company begins its 28th season seeking understudies for The Alchemist adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher, running March 13-29 in downtown Elgin.
Hatcher adapts Ben Jonson's classic farce about con artists and conning during the plague. This is one of the comic masterworks of the age, adapted for a modern audience. Directed and produced by Sean Hargadon. There is a small stipend.
Seeking male identify actors to understudy single to multiple character tracks, ranging in ages from 25-50.
Rehearsals will be conducted in Elgin. There is a guaranteed performance for understudies with sufficient preparation (as determined by the production team).
