t's Sapphics Night for our fourth installment of Life Is A Queer Cabaret! We are seeking a diverse cast of sapphic singers for a one-night only, queer musical theatre cabaret! Let's take a night to celebrate and dissect the characters and songs that aren't usually seen through a queer lens.

As performers, our identities hold meaning. And our own lived experiences can change the context and the narrative itself for any role we might play. Without changing the lyrics (or even the pronouns!) within a musical theatre song, how do our experiences and identities as queer people reinvent the context of even the most classic golden age musicals? This project is all about gender-fuckery, breaking the binary, and queering the musical theatre canon.

Show Details:
Location: Dorothy Downstairs (2500 W Chicago Ave)
Performing: Thursday, March 12, 7:00pm-8:30pm.
Tech: 4:00pm-6:00pm on day of performance
Rehearsals: 6:00-9:00pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays from February 23 through March 11th in Uptown, Chicago. Actors must be available at least once per week.
Mandatory rehearsal for all actors on Monday and Wednesday, March 9 and 11. Rehearsal space is transit accessible from 36 and 151 buses as well as the Red and Purple line.

Performers will also receive one (1) complimentary drink following the performance

We will have an accompanist for the cabaret, so tracks and sheet music will both be available options when selecting music for the show!
