The Theater Lab, a D214 Community Education program, is excited to announce auditions for the first production of its 10th anniversary season, Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare.
The Theater Lab is a friendly, collaborative-minded company that encourages performers of all backgrounds and experience to audition.
Please note Romeo and Juliet involves violence and adult situations and is not recommended for young children. There will be sword fighting required for some roles, and a stage combat coach will be involved in the process for safety.
Auditions for Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare will take place on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Forest View Education Center Theater.
Callbacks will take place by invitation only on Thursday, October 23, 2025, 7:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Please note that we are inquiring about your conflicts for a wider range of availability than may be required for rehearsals, so we can accommodate actors' schedules as much as possible.
Rehearsals are scheduled to begin the week of November 10, 2025, run up to and including the week of the production, February 6, 2026, and the week between performances, February 9-13, 2026. There will be rehearsal breaks to honor the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's holidays.
While we will do our best to work around actors' schedules, conflicts will be taken into consideration for casting, with preference given to those with fewer conflicts, if necessary. Rehearsals will be held two (2) or three (3) evenings a week and chosen from the following times: 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, with Wednesdays added as needed, especially closer to performance dates.

Please prepare a 1-2 minute Shakespearean monologue.

To ensure a smooth audition experience, auditions will be scheduled in 10-minute time slots. Your time slot will be provided via email after completing our online audition form at https://forms.gle/pRSWL7djU8UBCwiKA. You will be required to provide your name and contact information. You'll also have the opportunity to share your resume, headshot, and any other information you'd like us to know.
After submitting your completed audition form, you will receive an email no later than Monday, October 13, 2025, confirming your time slot for your audition at Forest View Education Center Theater.
