CHARACTERS & DESCRIPTIONS

Looking to fill the following roles and potentially a few that are NOT listed:

Bob Womack: (Ideal age range 45+) Bob is a long, lean man dressed nicely in a suit that is somewhat faded & tattered...much like himself. He is a bit of a goofy, fun loving, good ole boy with a strong character that you instant like...he is the type of man who enjoys cracking bad jokes and the worse they are the more he enjoys them. In 1890, Bob Womack staked a claim at Poverty Gulch, which led to the discovery of the significant gold deposits in the Cripple Creek Mining District, but died penniless.

Thomas Crockett (Ideal age range 25 - 40 | Tenor) Thomas Crockett is the Bob Cratchett of our story, is overworked, under-appreciated and belittled by Zachariah Gooch...but it's always the one there to do the grunt work as the clerk of the mining exchange office. Crockett wears a nice suit that is beginning to fray a bit at the edges. He is a slight man with a heart of gold. Come prepared with a cut of a memorized musical theatre ballad lasting no longer than 1-minute. Please provide sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. No a cappella and no tracks please.

Doc Susie (Ideal age range 25 - 40 | Soprano with a belt) Doc Susie is a strong, independent woman (but not a feminist) ahead of her time, which she has to be in order to survive in the old west in a male-dominated profession. She is a healthy woman handsomely dress. Come prepared with a cut of a memorized musical theatre ballad lasting no longer than 1-minute. Please provide sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. No a cappella and no tracks please.

Fergus O'Flaherty/Dark Spirit (Ideal age range 45+ | Sings but doesn't need to be the strongest | Dances in the show) The lovable town drunk with a characteristic thunderous laugh. We also see him in the past, before he turned to the bottle for solace, as a very gregarious & boisterous Irish pub owner. Traditional Ghost of Christmas Past from the Dickens novel.

Winfield Scott Stratton (Ideal age range 60+) The spirit of Winfield Scott Stratton is a white hair man dressed in a nice black Victorian frock coat, wearing nice riding boots. Stratton was a carpenter turned prospector who came to be known as the King of Cripple Creek for striking the richest gold strike in the Rockies. When he died, he left instructions in his will that nearly all his fortune was to be used to establish and maintain a home for poor people. The Home, which opened in 1913, has operated continuously since that date, and has served thousands of less fortunate elderly & children for more than a century.

Mollie Kathleen Gortner (Ideal age range 45+). The spirit of Mollie Kathleen wears a nice but not overly done Victorian dress. She is weathered & has the look of a woman who had a hard life...but there is an inner glow of goodness to her. She was a woman who defied the odds of the day to become the first female mine owner in Cripple Creek.
