"...Director Robert D. Estrin has taken a page from both the 1999 Disney TV version and the modernized 2014 movie remake of "Annie" to be more inclusive in casting the Depression-era show. He has also double-cast the orphans, so even more little girls get a chance to perform in the iconic family musical."

"..."Annie", the musical based on the comic strip character, "Little Orphan Annie" with a book by Thomas Meehan, Music by Charles Strouse and lyrics by Martin Charnin, was a Broadway "blockbuster" and is filled with some great music. Songs from this show are "Tomorrow", "Easy Street", "You're Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile, "It's A Hard Knock Life" and several others of note. It is a story about hope and dreams and often we forget, about Christmas and its spirit."

"...Despite theatergoers who say they’ve seen enough productions of “Annie” to last a lifetime, this new presentation brings sparkle, vigor and intimacy to the story, something that may have been lacking in other bigger, flashier productions. And for all those nay-saying pessimists who pooh-pooh the musical’s positive message, “Tomorrow,” Annie’s anthem to keeping your chin up when times are tough, is what this holiday confection is really all about. In fact, the song’s positive spirit, contagious melody and uplifting message is especially appropriate for today. To add some joy and a smile to your holidays, spend a couple hours up in lovely Lake Forest to unwrap “A New Deal for Christmas” this year."

"...Overall, I enjoyed Annie quite a bit because again, what is there not to love? I could easily overlook some of the things my critic’s eye noticed because I was too busy smiling and trying hard not to sing along. Always a classic, Annie is a great, optimistic show for the holidays!"

"...A special hats off has to be given to Director, Robert D. Estrin. To pull off the set changes, and costume changes (many actors played multiple parts), on a small school stage, and do it so flawlessly, was a work of art."
