Anna Netrebko in Recital: Day and Night at Lyric Opera

As an opera student growing up in Russia, Anna Netrebko once took a job scrubbing the floors at St. Petersburg's famed Mariinsky Theatre because it gave her a chance to watch rehearsals of operas for free. Only a few years later, at the age of just 22, Netrebko was performing in leading roles on the same stage she'd once been cleaning. Since then, Netrebko has gone on to become one of the world's most acclaimed opera singers, performing around the world, building a large fanbase that includes many non-opera fans and twice being named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time. In this recital at Chicago's Lyric Opera House, Netrebko is accompanied by pianist Malcolm Martineau for a performance that showcases the lustrous voice that made her a star.
