"...Based on the real-life friendship between Cline and one of her fans, Louise Seger, the revue has a long and auspicious history in Chicago. It was a massive, late-1990s hit for Northlight Theatre with folk singer Megon McDonough appearing in the title role, before the late Hollis Resnik took over when the show moved into a commercial run at the Apollo Theatre. I've reviewed this two-person (plus live band) show several other times, too, most recently about five years ago when it was staged in an intimate setting by Firebrand Theatre."

"...The action unfolds on designer Collette Pollard's rustic, honky-tonk set accented by multicolored lights extending over the audience. While some of Lee Fiskness' lighting designs puzzled me, I found the colorful strands charming. The spotlight illuminating Alcazar's Patsy (dressed in a gorgeous green cocktail dress by designer Emily N. Brink and looking every bit a star) during "Your Cheatin' Heart" was spot-on."

"...Based on a true story, creator and original director Ted Swindley, Always Patsy Cline is now playing at Drury Lane Theatre. Under the direction of Scott Weinstein, DLT production is engaging and witty and does an excellent job showcasing Segar's friendship with Cline."

"...If you are into Country/Western music, I think you will be delighted with the Drury Lane Theatre production of "Always Patsy Cline", based on a true story and created ( and originally directed) by Ted Swindley. This two- act, two- character ,play is both a concert and a story about a young lady who had her moments and hits before losing her life in a plane crash. Directed by Scott Weinstein on a set designed by Collette Pollard, the two ladies taking on the roles of Patsy Cline (Aja Alcazar has the right sound and a wonderful smile) and Louise Seger (a standout performance by Bri Sudia) will hold your interest from start to finish."

"...Right from the start, Scott Weinstein's peerless production about friendship makes the audience feel completely at home. When the music begins, the audience settles back and melts into their own personal memories of a more innocent era. This gentle, kindhearted story, filled with songs from the late 1950's and early 1960's, both mirthful and melancholy, is sincere, heartfelt and moving. It's kind of "Crazy," but this show is the musical equivalent of a big, warm hug."

"...At its core, the show is also a celebration of human connection. It tells the improbable, yet true story of a friendship that bloomed between a legendary performer and an ordinary fan, offering audiences a touching reminder of how music has the power to bridge worlds. For anyone who has ever dreamed of meeting their idol, sharing a laugh, or swapping stories over coffee, Always... Patsy Cline is a beautiful, funny, and emotionally rich journey that brings that dream to life."
