A Magical Cirque Christmas Reviews

"... Regular readers know I’m a very big fan of the magician Carisa Hendrix, aka Lucy Darling, but it’s hard to pull off tabletop magic, even at her level of execution, in a venue the size of the CIBC Theatre, especially with a loopy video feed that rarely focuses on the right spot, or even any spot. If she’s going to play this size of venue, Hendrix, a whopping talent, will need to be far more expansive with her act and persona, and she will need better tech and creative support. Here, every time she tried to talk to an audience member down front, the auditorium was filled with blinding light, kind of ruining the moment."

"...The show is directed by its creator Louanne Madorma and the co-creators are Jim Millan and Carisa Hendrix. I am sure these are circus people as are those members of this company. They are skilled performers who delight an audience and for those of us older, the music of the different eras is truly heartwarming. As I said, the show is strong on talent and would be stronger if the story was eliminated and just let the audience enjoy the great performers and their talent."

"...The performers had me on the edge of my seat with some amazing cirque/circus style acts. Kevin DeMaro is so agile and graceful as he performs with hula hoops and flying poles. Some of the other acts include a gyroscope acrobat, juggles, a Rolla Bolla and a unicyclist. They all bring something special to this show and just when you think they have gone as far as they can they go a little bit farther leaving you in awe."
