In the past my daughter was freaked out by the scarier elements of Scrooge's Christmas Eve haunting--Marley’s chain-clanking appearance, the grim-reaper-like Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come--so I was pleased that this production manages to downplay those elements without blunting the narrative or message."
