When the story begins, Benjamin Braddock has just arrived home in Southern California after graduating from an elite Eastern college. He's smart, accomplished, rich, and ... anxious. It is the 1960s. Ben rejects his parents' lifestyle of shallow ideals, stiff martinis and social elitism, but he has no clear path ahead. While brooding about his future, Benjamin is seduced by the older Mrs. Robinson, the wife of his father's business partner. What begins as an affair turns complicated when Benjamin falls for the one person Mrs. Robinson demands he stay away from - her daughter Elaine.
