"Onionheads" is a tragic comedy that tells the story of youth, innocence, and survival. It follows the lives of the Tidwell brothers and the Bumpinmeyer sisters during the Oklahoma Dustbowl. It is the summer of 1935, and the shocking reality of life and death hit these youngsters as they watch the skies turn black, and they lose their farms to the relentless dust. Devastated, they travel to Californee, a "land of milk and honey," only to peel back layers of the sweet and sour, revealing more hidden family secrets. farms to the relentless dust.
