Night Watch at Raven Theatre

The narrative of NIGHT WATCH takes the audience into the chilling depths of a dilemma: Is it more terrifying not to trust the people around you or to question your own sanity? Elaine finds herself tangled in this quandary every night in her sumptuous city townhouse, haunted by moonlit streets, a disturbed mind, and a large window. Things take a disturbing turn when she spots a dead body in a window of a decrepit, deserted building across the street, only for it to vanish before her husband, best friend or maid could confirm her dreadful sighting. The gripping revival is packed with shocking twists and thrilling turns, ensuring audiences remain on the edge of their seats until the absolute end.

Georgette Verdin takes the directorial reigns for NIGHT WATCH, with a cast comprising Aila Ayilam Peck as Elaine, Kroydell Galima in the role of her husband John, and Jodi Gage as Blanche. Also featuring are Matthew Martinez Hannon playing Appleby and Vanelli, Christopher Meister as Walker and Hoke, and Kathy Sciambatterra portraying Helga and Dr. Lake. Since its initial performance in 1972, the play garnered critical acclaim, leading to a film adaptation in 1973 starring Elizabeth Taylor and Laurence Harvey.

Sharing her perspective on the NIGHT WATCH production ahead of Halloween, Raven Theatre Company's Artistic Director, Sarah Slight stated, "In all three of our plays next season, the characters are wrestling with the power dynamics of their familial relationships, asking the questions, "Who has power in our lives? And why?" Lucille Fletcher is renowned for crafting suspenseful plays, films, and radio dramas that address such thought-provoking questions. At its heart, Night Watch is a Hitchcock-style thriller guaranteed to keep audiences guessing. Its production in October, aptly timed for Halloween, feels utterly appropriate."
