"The True Cost: Stories of Human Trafficking" is seeking understudies:

-One woman of color
-One male of any race

"The True Cost" is a documentary play transcribed from interviews with real people that centers on the second most profitable (yet barely spoken of) crime in the US. You would perform 3-6 of these transcribed speeches (with additional scenes when we return to in-person performances.) Currently all performances are on Zoom.

Pay:
-$200 for the rehearsal period
-$85 per performance

Shows can be anywhere from three times a month to once every three months, and are arranged with actors' schedules-usually on Saturday afternoons to not conflict with usual stage performance times. [AKA time commitment is low and flexible.]

Contracts will be through Oct 15, 2022.

Understudies are released three weeks prior to performances

Zoom Auditions:
-Tuesday Nov 2 @ 5:30-7:30 by five minute slots
-Sides of the monologues will be provided. Please come with two of the three monologues ready, though we may only need to see one.
*Please come with about 15 seconds of a song of your choosing. This is not a musical, but there is a very short song at the beginning and end
-If you cannot attend and need to send in a self-tape, please email and we can accommodate

More about the company and production:
The Still Point Theatre Collective has toured documentary productions and conducted workshops in prisons, elderly homes, and with the developmentally disabled for 28 years. We follow "The True Cost" with panel discussions to further inform the audience and instigate action.

Hosts of shows are national and the show travels [all paid] when it is live.
