40/15... a musical in two ages

Pay: Stipend

Description:

Pride Arts is pleased to announce auditions for their upcoming developmental reading of 40/15... a musical in two ages written by Cindy O'Connor and Larry Todd Cousineau (the writers of All That He Was, America's Best Outcast Toy, and Flies! The Musical!) It will be directed by Cousineau.

Seeking 5 musical theatre performers, 20's-40's. Applicants should be strong singers and strong comedic actors. Actors of all ethnicities, gender identities, and actors with disabilities are encouraged to submit.

NOTE: THIS IS A CAST OF FIVE. The 15-year-olds and the 40-year olds will be portrayed by the same performers.

At 15:
Sarah Diamond, an overly-perky 'valley girl' type, who just won all-around gold at the World Gymnastics Championships.

Winter Graham, a gawky, awkward outcast... who has the distinction of being the tallest person in class, the smartest person in class, and the only African-American person in class.

Robby Newton, a quiet, soft-spoken 'jock' from a military family, whose best friend, and opposite, is Kevin.

Kevin Peterson, a vibrant, outgoing 'preppy' kid, who loves musical theatre, fashion, and decorating. (But has no idea what this pattern might be leading towards.)

Oren Zimmerman, a confident, self-described 'nerd' who loves computers and has premonitions of his future grandeur.

At 40:
Sarah Diamond-Kircher, divorced mother and coach to a competitive gymnast, who worries that she can't face her daughter's inevitable letdown, win or lose.

Winter Graham, a statuesque beauty, supermodel, and talk-show host, who finds her life surprisingly empty, despite her full-body transformation.

Robby Newton, a surgeon and soon-to-be divorced father, whose newfound freedom has left him at a crossroads.

Kevin Peterson, an openly-gay musical theatre lyricist who can't seem to commit to a relationship, despite many opportunities.

Oren Zimmerman, a wealthy, successful computer software guru who has spent so much of his life achieving, he hasn't had time to live.
