Marriott Theatre will hold an open dance call for non-union dancers/singers on Monday, February 24th at the Marriott Theatre Rehearsal Warehouse (1342 Barclay Blvd, Buffalo Grove, 60089) for their upcoming production of West Side Story (rehearsal starts 7/23/20, contemplated closing date 10/11/20). Seeking dancers with strong ballet and jazz technical background. Male-identifying dancers - bring knee pads, ballet shoes, and jazz sneakers. Female-identifying dancers - bring ballet shoes, character heels and knee length skirt. All dancers should be prepared to do a ballet and jazz combo. Male-identifying, be prepared to do some knee work in the jazz combination. Dance call for non-AEA male-identifying dancers will take place at 10am, and non-AEA female-identifying dancers will be seen at 3:30pm. All transgender and gender non-conforming artists are welcome to come to any call where you feel most comfortable. Bring one 16 bar song (equivalent to one minute in length) and a second contrasting selection in case the artistic team needs to hear more. Please bring music in your key and an updated H/R. An accompanist will be provided.
