Seeking actors for Actors Theatre of Louisville's Professional Training Company (PTC), a nine-month apprenticeship program and production season.

Now in its 48th year, the PTC is the cornerstone of Actors Theatre of Louisville's commitment to education. One of the nation's oldest pre-professional training programs, the PTC is a one-of-a-kind immersive program designed to elevate early-career practitioners in the American theatre industry by teaching the business and the art of being a theatre professional. Members of the Company work directly with Actors Theatre artistic, administrative and production staff as well as guest artists to receive hands-on training in their respective fields.

The PTC produces a four-show season, focusing entirely on new works, culminating in a fully-produced commissioned piece as part the Humana Festival of New American Plays. Roles and understudies in the theatre's mainstage season are possible, but not guaranteed. Acting Apprentices will work alongside guest artists as crew members in mainstage performances. The practical and business-based curriculum is applied to an end-of-season showcase for industry professionals during the Humana Festival. Each apprentice receives a $5,000 grant to help offset the cost of housing.

To apply, applicants must audition in person or submit a video audition. In-person auditions can be requested online. Video auditions are accepted beginning January 2 through February 29, 2020.

Local auditions will be held in Central Chicago January 26 - 28.
