Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre seeks strong singer/actors including all people of color and gender identities for a production of the musical WORKING (revised 2012 version) adapted by Nina Faso and Stephen Schwartz. Performances will be December 6, 2019, through January 26, 2020.
Based on Studs Turkell's best-selling book of interviews of American workers, WORKING paints a vivid portrait of the people whom the world so often takes for granted: The school teacher, the phone operator, the waitress, the millworker, the mason, just to name a few.
Director/Choreographer is Chris Carter, Musical Director is Jeremy Ramey.
Auditions are Monday, July 29, 2019 and Tuesday July 30, 2019 6pm-10pm at the United Church of Rogers Park 1545 West Morse Ave, Chicago.
CAST BREAKDOWN:
Man 1 (20's - 40's) Actor will appear as multiple characters. Solos include "Brother Trucker" and "The Mason."
Man 2 (20's - 30's) Actor will appear as multiple characters. Solos include "Delivery" and "A Very Good Day"
Man 3 (30's to late 40's) Actor will appear as multiple characters. Solos include "Joe" and "Fathers and Sons."
Woman 1 (20's - 30's) Actor will appear as multiple characters. Solos include "Millwork" and "A Very Good Day."
Woman 2 (20's - 40's) Actor will appear as multiple characters. Solos include "Just a Housewife" and "Cleaning' Women."
Woman 3 (20's - 40's) Actor will appear as multiple characters. Solos include "Nobody Tells Me How" and "It's an Art."
Prepare one song of your choice in the style of the show. Bring your music book in case the casting team asks for another song.
